Sammi Snyder knew what it was like to win as an underdog.

She found out Wednesday how it felt to win as the favorite.

The Exeter senior defeated sophomore teammate Alexis Cramer 6-0, 6-0 to win her second straight Berks Girls Tennis League flight one singles title.

Two other Exeter seniors claimed titles - Corinne Grohoski won flight three and Sai Kurapati flight four. Wyomissing won the other two - junior Anna Kate Schreck at No. 2 and sophomore Vittoria D'Addesi at No. 5.

The Spartans and Eagles won their respective divisions and will get byes in the team tournament, which begins Saturday.

This has been Snyder's season, and it was her tournament, too.

She has had no equal. She has yet to drop a set this season and lost just one game in four tournament matches.

Still, she came into the final a bit anxious.

"I felt like I was supposed to win being the (No.) 1 on the team and she (Cramer) being the (No.) 2, and (me) being two years older," said Snyder, who goes for her fourth straight doubles title today when she teams with Cramer in the flight one semis. "I was really nervous, actually, but I think she was just as nervous."

Cramer, who won flight two last season, showed crisp groundstrokes and a nice serve. But she needed to play a consistent match against her strong, steady teammate and ultimately couldn't match Snyder.

"I went for things a little bit too much," Cramer said. "I just needed to keep the ball in play.

"I feel like I played a good match. I just wish I would have made it a little bit closer. But other than that, it was a good match and Sammi's a really good player."

Snyder, the defending District 3-AAA champ, knows the matches get tougher from here.

"I don't think it's been necessarily easy so far," she said. "I've had good people to play. I feel like I've just been playing really well.

"Everyone (in the Berks League) is young right now, I feel. I played sophomores in the semis and finals. ... When I was younger, everyone who was older than me was dominating."
